When dealing with a toxic boss, some might tell you to bite your tongue when you try to complain about them to HR, or even other coworkers. If you’re thinking that your boss is not doing their job correctly, in addition to simply treating the employees under them like garbage, you might be doing other scorned employees a disservice. At the end of the day, a job is just a job.
As an employee, you shouldn’t have to sacrifice your mental well-being just to get ahead. Who knows, it might not backfire on you at all. Maybe instead, 11 other employees will follow your lead and complain about all of the workplace mistreatment this evil boss unleashed upon you. Take that gamble. Nobody takes an employee seriously until they resign, sit down, and write a letter explaining all the ways their boss has made their work life difficult. Then, the fun begins. Kicking someone to the curb might not feel great, but someone getting sacked who deserves it is a lovely case of karmic justice.
