LONGUEUIL — A man was injured Saturday after he was hit by gunshots in Longueuil.
Longueuil police say they were notified of a man injured by a bullet on Beauregard St. at 10 a.m.
Once on the scene, officers observed the 20-year-old man, who was known to police, had been seriously injured in the lower body. He was taken to hospital.
Police say the initial investigation led them to establish a secure crime scene at Jacques-Cartier Blvd. and St-Hélène St., also in Longueuil.
The police canine unit and the forensic identification section were dispatched to support the investigation, which is now underway.
Police are calling on anyone with information linked to the gunshots to contact them.
