Damage from the 3 a.m. blaze today, November 1, in Barangay Masipag, Puerto Princesa City, is initially estimated at around โฑ175,000, though the investigation remains ongoing.
The structural fire incident affected 12 houses and displaced around 30 families, including those of Emmanuel Macmac Jagmis, Antonio Arzaga Aborot, Alfonso Arzaga Aborot, Jocelyn Aborot Andaya, Rosalina Nalica Jagmis, Maria Leonora Jagmis Roman, Allan Badenas Jagmis, Maria Asuncion Badenas Jagmis (owner of two houses), John Michael Jagmis Roman, Marites Jagmis Buncag, and Leonardo Aborot Jagmis.
The Bureau of Fire Protection Puerto Princesa City Fire Station said seven people sustained injuries, but details on the cause were not shared with Palawan News.
Reports reaching Palawan News indicate that nine homes were destroyed and five partially damaged, with some families temporarily seeking shelter at the Masipag Barangay Hall.
No one was seriously injured, except for one homeowner bitten by a dog.
Firefighters arrived at the scene at around 3:07 a.m., and the fire was declared out at 5:07 a.m.
The city fire bureau is continuing to investigate the cause of the fire.
