Looking for an action camera that can shoot 8K? Well, Insta360 has just launched the Ace Pro 2, a follow up to last year’s model. It still follows the same design as its predecessor, where you have a GoPro-like body and a flip-out 2.5-inch touchscreen.
Making the Ace Pro 2 unique is that it is a rare action camera that can shoot 8K30 and 4K120 video natively thanks to a new 1/1.3-inch sensor and Leica Summarit lens that has a wider FOV at 13mm (the original Ace Pro had a 16mm focal length equivalent).
To make good use of the new sensoe, the Ace Pro 2 features AI-enhanced software for “stunning low light clarity” and PureVideo for enhanced brightness and details, with photos captured in 50-megapixel resolution. This is made possible with a dual chip design, where you have a Pro Imaging chip and a dedicated AI chip.
The Ace Pro 2 can run at up to 180 minutes on a single charge, and using a 30w USB-PD adapter can quickly charge it in 47 minutes.
The Insta360 Ace Pro 2 is priced at Php 24,990 for the base unit and Php 25,990 if you need 2 batteries. Pre-orders are now ongoing in all Insta360 stores nationwide.
