Jersey City Free Public Library is proud to celebrate Banned Books Week this September 22nd through the 28th along with the rest of the literary community. Banned Books week was initially created in 1982 in response to a spike in challenges to books in libraries, bookstores and schools. This event is dear to our hearts at JCFPL because this holiday highlights the value of free and open access to information for all our patrons in their pursuit of lifelong learning.
