The delegation from Palawan secured its second gold medal in the Batang Pinoy 2024 National Championship today after winning the Sepak Takraw Under-14 category championship game at the RVM Sports Complex on Thursday, November 28.
Team Palawan, composed of Khalil Khim Mangubat, Ace Jay Tahan, Karl Vincent Derder, EJ Emerald Boyles, and Archie Sangumay, edged out the City of Victorias in three sets (2-1) to take home the gold.
In other events, Palawanโs John Jeric Cleto, Justine Jay Tajan, Jeram Lloyd Cabataรฑa, Paul Jhey Catipay, and Jabez Kian Gibaya won a bronze medal in the 17-under category of the same event.
In the athletics event, Alicia Trisha Mae Badajos clinched a silver medal in the Shot Put Girls Under-18 category, finishing in second place.
Todayโs medal haul brings Palawanโs total to 2 golds, 2 silvers, and 1 bronze.
Meanwhile, Pasig City continues to dominate the overall standings with a tally of 83 golds, 49 silvers, and 88 bronzes.
Defending champion Baguio City remains a distant second with 63 golds, 53 silvers, and 58 bronzes.
Completing the top five are Quezon City in third place with 45 golds, 43 silvers, and 45 bronzes; Davao City in fourth with 35 golds, 35 silvers, and 28 bronzes; and Cebu City in fifth with 28 golds, 32 silvers, and 27 bronzes.
Host city Puerto Princesa is currently ranked 21st with a tally of 9 golds, 7 silvers, and 15 bronzes.
