Do you think there is a chance for aliens that are not simple organism to exist?

There are a lot planets out there, and I’m quite sure that simple life forms exist, perhaps even within our own solar system. But the real question is: if these life forms aren't just simple organisms, are they less advanced than us, or are they more technologically advanced? Will they discover us first, or will we find them?
