Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to declare Shringverpur Dham a pilgrimage site on 12 December ahead of the 2025 Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh (UP).
Shringverpur is a place in Prayagraj, from where Lord Ram crossed the river Ganga. It is a part of the ‘Ram Van Gaman Path’ being built from Ayodhya to Chitrakoot, Jagran reported.
Recently, the ‘double-engine’ government of the BJP has done many efforts to boost spiritual, cultural and religious tourism in UP. Now, Shringverpur is being developed like Ayodhya.
Along with declaring Shringverpur a pilgrimage site, PM Modi will also inaugurate various other projects including two phases of the ‘Ram Van Gaman Path’ which is being built at a cost of Rs 4,200 crore.
Rs 1,100 crore will be spent on a bridge on the river Ganga. Rs 20.34 crore will be spent on establishing Nishadraj Cultural Centre, which will offer various facilities to tourists.
The completed work
Nishadraj Park is almost complete. A 51-foot-tall bronze statue of Lord Ram hugging Nishadraj has been installed in this park. The 10-acre park will have plants and trees of the Ramayan era.
The work on Ganga Ghats has also been completed. The work on constructing three helipads is ongoing. PM Modi will land on this helipad after visiting Prayagraj.
The light and sound system set up in the park will narrate the story of how Nishadraj offered night stay to Lord Ram, Devi Sita and Laxman during their Vanvas and then helped them to cross the Ganga.
Rs 29 crore has been spent on Sandhya Ghat, the tourist facilitation centre, parking and Sita Kund. The park will have light fountains and scenes from Ramayan engrave don walls.
