PETALING JAYA: Streaming service platform Netflix has announced an increase in subscription prices for customers in Malaysia, effective immediately.
Technology news portal SoyaCincau reported that this extends to Netflix’s Basic, Standard, Premium and Mobile plans.
The Basic plan is now priced at RM29.90 a month, up from its previous price of RM28.
Subscribers for the Standard plan, which used to be RM45 a month, now have to pay RM49.90, while the Premium plan’s price has been increased from RM55 to RM62.90.
The Mobile plan, previously available at RM17 monthly, now costs RM18.90.
Customers who share their Standard or Premium plans with people outside their household also have to pay RM13 a month for each of those individuals.
This additional fee will be charged to the main account holder.
The price hikes are also expected to affect the prices of Netflix add-on packages under various telcos and pay TV providers.
SoyaCincau reported Astro as confirming that its prices would be increased, though existing customers with Netflix as part of their packages will not experience the hikes until March 1, 2025.
