Marcos leads relief distribution efforts in Kristine-hit Cavite


President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. led the government aid distribution to over 4,000 beneficiaries affected by severe tropical storm Kristine in Cavite.

The government aid, which amounted to P10,000 for each of the 4,233 beneficiaries from different cities and municipalities across Cavite, was part of the administration’s Presidential Assistance to Farmers, Fisherfolk, and Families Program, as well as additional welfare services.

“The aid is part of the governmentโ€™s ongoing efforts to provide immediate support to those hardest hit by the storm, helping them rebuild their lives,” the Palace said in a statement.

Joining the President in the aid distribution at the Sigtuna Hall of the Tagaytay International Convention Center were Cavite Governor Athena Bryana Tolentino, Cavite 8th District Representative Aniela Bianca Tolentino, as well as Cabinet officials including Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary and former Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla, Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary Rex Gatchalian, and Department of Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel.

Other Cavite local officials present were Cavite Vice Governor Shernan Jaro, District Representatives, Board Members, as well as Mayors and Vice Mayors from the 23 local government units in the province.

“The swift and coordinated action aims to provide much-needed relief to the residents of Cavite, underscoring the commitment of the Marcos administration to ensure that no one is left behind during times of crisis.,” the Palace added.
