NORTH MERRICK, NY — A trooper was injured when his patrol vehicle was struck on the Southern State Parkway, state police said.
It happened on Saturday afternoon by Exit 22N as the trooper had just completed a traffic stop on the westbound side. The trooper was getting back into the vehicle when a driver struck it, police said.
The trooper was taken to an area hospital as he complained of pain but did not have serious injuries, state police said,

There was no word on the driver who struck the trooper.
Motorists are reminded to obey the “Move Over Law,” as troopers face added dangers each day, state police said.
