The Eagles went down to AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Sunday and did something they hadn’t done since 2017: win a game against the Dallas Cowboys. The Eagles (7-2) not only accomplished that goal, but they also did so in dominant fashion, forcing five turnovers against the Dak Prescott-less Cowboys offense to come away with a 34-6 win.
The outcome has a couple of former Eagles quarterbacks excited, one of whom believes games against the Cowboys may lose their luster in the near future.
At the start of NBC Sports Philadelphia’s “Eagles Postgame Live,” analyst Ron Jaworski, who played 10 seasons for the Eagles and led them to Super Bowl XV in the 1980 season, said the Cowboys have a long way to go to catch up to the Eagles.
“This once-great rivalry between the Eagles and the Cowboys is over,” Jaworski said. “It was total domination in every phase of the game. It will take the Cowboys at least three years to catch up to the Eagles after they got whooped today.”

Former Eagles quarterback and Super Bowl LII MVP Nick Foles posted on social media that he enjoyed watching the Eagles take control of the game.
“It’s always fun watching the Birds beat up on the Cowboys! NFC rivalry games are the best! Fly Eagles Fly!”
Current Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts found a way to bounce back after a rough second quarter, where he turned the ball over twice. He finished the game completing 70% of his passes (14 of 20) for 202 yards, four total touchdowns (two passing and two rushing), an interception, and a passer rating of 115.0. According to the NFL, Hurts is the first quarterback in league history with a touchdown pass, a rushing touchdown, and a passer rating of 100 or higher in four consecutive games, moving past Jim Hart, Jeff Hostetler, and Lamar Jackson, all of whom did it three times.
The Eagles won’t have much time to enjoy their win and rest, having to quickly turn their focus for a Thursday night game against the Washington Commanders, the team they moved past in the standings after the Commanders (7-3) lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday afternoon.
