Haveri: Former Home Minister and senior BJP leader Araga Jnanendra claimed that if Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, currently embroiled in the MUDA (Mysuru Urban Development Authority) scam, had any integrity, he would have resigned by now.
Addressing an election rally in Shiggaon on Saturday, Jnanendra accused the state government of being mired in corruption, with Siddaramaiah himself implicated in the MUDA scandal.
“They have misappropriated funds from the Valmiki Corporation and are now involved in the excise and Waqf scandals,” he said.
“The Chief Minister is attempting to grant unconstitutional powers to the Waqf Board and seems intent on turning the entire country into Waqf property. If he had any dignity, he would have stepped down by now. But he has sunk to a new low,” Jnanendra stated.
Jnanendra also praised former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai for his tenure, noting his effective governance and inclusive approach in distributing grants to all constituencies.
“I served as Home Minister in his cabinet and saw his dedication firsthand. Basavaraj Bommai allocated funds to all constituencies,” he added.
He lashed out at Siddaramaiah’s government, which has been in power for over a year and a half, claiming it has failed to allocate any funds for development in the constituency.
“When we ask for funds, they irresponsibly claim that funds have been provided for guarantee schemes. This kind of negligence is unprecedented,” Jnanendra said.
He called on the voters to teach Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar a lesson by electing Bharath Bommai.
