Google updates Thompson Center renderings before first full year of construction

The renovation of Helmut Jahn’s fought-over Thompson Center building in Chicago for Google has provided an updated pair of renderings for the $280 million project. The update follows last December’s release of the initial images for the reimagining. Google is pledging to deliver a LEED Platinum-certified project in line with the late architect’s post-modernist vision. Initial demolition work began in May and will advance over the next year towards completion in the year 2026.
