AEW Star Adam Cole Clears the Air on WWE Manager Role Rumors

AEW star Adam Cole recently addressed the rumors about him potentially taking on a managerial role in WWE. Cole, who gained recognition as one of the top stars on the independent wrestling scene, built a massive reputation for himself in the early 2010s.

He joined WWE in 2017, debuting alongside Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish to form the faction, Undisputed Era. The faction dominated WWE’s developmental brand, NXT, for a lengthy period. Roderick Strong later joined, strengthening the team even further. At one point, Undisputed Era held every title in the promotion.

With WWE booking the faction so strongly, fans expected a promising future for them on the main roster. However, these expectations never materialized. In 2021, Cole, who had been the face of NXT, chose to leave WWE when his contract expired.

Following the departure of the Undisputed Era members, the rest decided to switch to AEW. After Cole’s exit from WWE, rumors surfaced about him joining WWE’s main roster as Keith Lee’s manager and being required to get a haircut. Recently, Cole clarified the longstanding rumors about him taking on a managerial role.

What did Adam Cole say about becoming a manager in WWE?

Adam Cole recently appeared on the Stick To Wrestling podcast, where he addressed the rumors about him potentially becoming a manager in WWE. He clarified no one from WWE personally told him to join RAW or SmackDown in a managerial role.

The AEW star stated, “Pro wrestling is wild and I know there are discussions that go that not all of us hear about. No one ever personally told me, ‘Hey, we want to bring you to Raw or SmackDown to be a manager.’ I’m not saying that was never discussed amongst people without my knowledge. I certainly think it’s possible, but…I never had that discussion.”

Cole cleared the air on longstanding rumors by sharing his side. Another major development in his in-ring career is his current feud with MJF in AEW.
