A point a minute was plenty for Stephen Curry in his first game back from an ankle injury.
Curry scored 24 points in 24 minutes, five seconds as the NBA’s Golden State Warriors beat the Washington Wizards 125-112.
The Warriors were careful with their 36-year-old star after he missed three straight games. Curry started the game but did not start the second half.
With six wins in seven games, the Warriors are off to an impressive start. Their bench has made huge contributions, scoring 60 points against the Wizards.
”I feel good,” Curry said. “My ankle feels fine. It’s just, you don’t want to put yourself in jeopardy.”
Elsewhere, Darius Garland scored 39 points as the Cleveland Cavaliers improved to 8-0 with a 116-114 win over the Milwaukee Bucks, who were without injured superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.
