CHAPPAQUA, NY — A single-car crash on the Saw Mill tragically took the life of the driver and sent a passenger to the hospital.
The Westchester County Police Department says it is investigating the cause of the single-car fatal accident that took place around 8:45 a.m. on Sunday morning on the Saw Mill River Parkway in Chappaqua.
Police say that a car was traveling southbound, south of Route 120, when it left the roadway and struck a guardrail.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while a passenger was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The southbound lanes of the parkway were closed in the area for several hours for an investigation by police officers and members of the Accident Investigation Team.
