RIVERVIEW, FL — A 60-year-old man is dead following a shooting at a Waffle House restaurant in Hillsborough County, authorities said.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting happened just after 3 a.m. Saturday at Waffle House, located at 10041 U.S. Highway 301 South in Riverview. When deputies arrived, they found the man unresponsive with a gunshot wound to his upper body.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

According to investigators, the man was shot following a verbal argument with the suspect.
“We are committed to holding those responsible for such reckless violence accountable,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a statement. “We urge anyone with information that could help identify the suspect to come forward.”
