Traveller’s editors asked some of our regular expert contributors to consider the destinations – based on their millions of air (and road, rail, sea, river and land) miles accumulated over the past decade – that mattered to them the most.
They then lodged their votes to create a list of “Traveller’s 100 all-time greatest destinations”, with the results revealed in this article collection.
As often happens with such lists, some may find the voting results confounding, even contentious. Then again, you may wholeheartedly concur with some, or all, of the votes.
Whatever the case, we’d love to hear your thoughts and your own choice of your greatest all-time single destination, which can be a country, city, town or world wonder. It’s up to you.
And, thanks to our like-minded friends at Lonely Planet, to mark our special feature we have 100 copies of the publisher’s coffee table book Dream Trips of The World, valued at $60 (shop.lonelyplanet.com) to give to 100 readers.
Described as the “definitive bucket list travel guide”, Dream Trips of The World features inspiring 100 dream trips from across the world. The book is packed with insights and knowledge from Lonely Planet experts so that you can make your travel dreams happen.
Write to us at travellerletters@traveller.com.au with “100 destinations” in the subject line. Include a few lines of explanation for your choice of greatest single destination and we’ll publish the results in these pages as well as selected comments.
