The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Palawan 2nd District Engineering Office has completed a solar-powered water system project in Barangay Malinao, Narra, Palawan, aimed at improving water accessibility through renewable energy.
In a report submitted by Palawan 2nd District Engineer Noel L. Fuentebella to DPWH MIMAROPA Regional Director Gerald A. Pacanan, CESO III, he said the project includes a control panel room, a 30-cubic-meter stainless steel water tank, and a solar pumping system.
The setup, powered by solar panels, also involved drilling to access the local water source.
The facility is equipped with four solar-powered LED light posts and a perimeter fence.
DPWH MIMAROPA said the project addresses local water needs, particularly during dry seasons, and is part of the Convergence and Special Support Program focused on sustainable water supply solutions in rural communities.
