The Crew of Shenzhou 19 Successfully Completes the Fifth Space Rendezvous – Pandaily


On October 30, the crew of Shenzhou-19 spacecraft successfully entered the “Tiangong” space station, marking the fifth “space rendezvous” of China’s space station. So far, astronauts born in the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s have gathered in the “Tiangong”.

The crew of the Shenzhou 19 manned spaceflight mission is composed of “post-70s” astronaut Cai Xuzhe, “post-90s” astronauts Song Lingdong and Wang Haoze. The crew of the Shenzhou 18 manned spaceflight mission consists of “post-80s” astronauts Ye Guangfu, Li Cong, and Li Guangsu.

At 4:27 on October 30th Beijing time, the Long March II F Y19 carrier rocket carrying the Shenzhou 19 manned spacecraft was launched at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. Around 4:45, the Shenzhou 19 spacecraft successfully separated from the rocket and entered its planned orbit. The crew members are in good condition, and the launch was a complete success.

Later this morning, after entering orbit, the Shenzhou 19 spacecraft successfully docked with Tianhe core module of China’s space station at its forward port. Subsequently, three astronauts will transfer from Shenzhou 19 to Tianhe core module. The crew of Shenzhou 18 has made preparations to welcome and assist in various tasks for the arrival of the crew from Shenzhou 19.
