If you’ve ever thought about content creation, there’s no better time to start than now.
As Adobe MAX wrapped up in Miami Beach last month, it became abundantly clear that 2024 truly is the breakthrough year for Artificial Intelligence. On that note, see our features on the latest Adobe AI updates and top Adobe AI tools.
With over 100 groundbreaking updates across Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe tools are empowering creatives with better, more intuitive AI-centric workflows and more robust creative capabilities.
Just in time for Black Friday, Adobe’s latest improvements to the Creative Cloud suite bring new potential for both professionals and rookies alike, making it an ideal opportunity to access industry-leading tools in 2024.
Whether you’re a creative lead running an agency or a solopreneur juggling client work, this Adobe suite glow-up is one you won’t want to miss.
Given all of the Adobe AI updates, here’s what you’re getting (and more!) within the Adobe software ecosystem:
Adobe Tools: Photoshop Introduces Intelligent Automation
Photoshop, Adobe’s most iconic powerhouse program, now boasts AI-driven features designed to improve productivity and push the envelope for ambitious thinking.
The Generative Fill and Generative Expand tools — all thanks to the latest Adobe Firefly model — allow users to effortlessly extend, alter, or modify image elements with immaculate accuracy.
Creators can now generate photorealistic backgrounds and subject details directly from text prompts, streamlining complex edits in just seconds!
The introduction of Generative Workspace in Photoshop (beta) further beautifies the experience, allowing us to prompt multiple variations of imagery simultaneously without re-rendering.
Talk about productivity!
Additionally, Adobe Substance 3D Viewer (still in beta) now lets artists integrate 3D elements within 2D images, making Photoshop a competent hybrid tool for 3D design within a familiar 2D framework.
Quite frankly, this is the feature that excites me the most here.
As a branding entrepreneur, nothing excites me more than being able to play with angles, shapes, and depth. Not only will it be easier to come up with brilliant logos, but it’ll also be easier to explain concepts.
Adobe Tools: Create Stunning Videos with Generative AI
Adobe Premiere Pro introduces Generative Extend, a tool that leverages Adobe’s Firefly generative AI to automatically add frames at the beginning or end of video clips.
This innovation allows video editors to create cleaner transitions, effortlessly extend shots, and match scene aesthetics, drastically speeding up the editing process.
It doesn’t matter if you’re an influencer or a video editing pro.
This feature is set to transform video workflows even more in 2025, helping more creatives work faster and focus on decisions surrounding storytelling rather than technical adjustments.
Adobe’s new Firefly Video Model takes generative AI to the next level in video production, enabling creators to generate original video clips from text prompts.
The Generate Video (Beta) feature in Adobe Firefly’s web app can produce entirely new scenes or b-roll footage, giving creators wider opportunities to access more video resources for quite literally any project.
This tool is a breakthrough for quickly adding content and on-demand, especially for storytellers and marketers looking to create visual narratives.
Adobe Tools: Illustrator Gets Generative Shape Fill and New Path Tools
For vector artists, Adobe Illustrator‘s latest features mark a huge leap in design capabilities.
The Generative Shape Fill tool allows designers to fill shapes with complex patterns and textures generated by AI, allowing for endless possibilities for unique visual themes.
Furthermore, Illustrator’s Objects on Path lets users place and manipulate objects along paths in intricate designs more comfortably, while improvements to Image Trace reduce anchor points, creating smoother vector conversions for hand-drawn and raster images.
Improvements like these make Illustrator more versatile, especially for creatives working in illustration and logo design like me.
Adobe Tools: InDesign Gets AI-Powered Layouts
If you work in publishing or are simply looking at publishing something as fun as a zine, you’re in luck.
InDesign’s newest update integrates Generative Expand and Text to Image capabilities, harnessing AI to quickly populate layout designs with high-quality and intentional images.
For creators in technical and academic spaces, Adobe now supplements support for MathML, allowing equations to be included in publications with accessibility and unmatched precision.
Combined with seamless export to Adobe Express for collaborative editing, these tools make InDesign an essential platform for inventive digital publishing workflows.
Adobe Tools: Intelligent and Faster Photo Editing Meets Lightroom
Photographers and memory hoarders, rejoice! This one’s for you.
Adobe Lightroom continues to streamline photo editing with Generative Remove, allowing users to remove objects and distractions in a single click.
Granted that smartphones already provide this feature, Lightroom takes it to the next level.
Quick Actions allow photographers to apply customized edits that respond to each photo’s unique composition and lighting, while new Content Credentials offer options for embedding edit history, social media handles, and copyright information.
These innovations promise faster, more efficient editing workflows for professional and amateur photographers alike.
Adobe Tools: Project Neo (Beta) Bridges 2D and 3D Design in the Browser
One way I check if programs are worth the software download is if their web-based counterparts are just as responsive and compelling.
This, for me, is one of the many things Adobe gets right.
Project Neo introduces 3D design to creators in 2D in a user-friendly, web-based environment.
This revolutionary tool is designed for Photoshop and Illustrator users looking to experiment with 3D modeling, allowing creatives to build, refine, and export 3D assets directly to Illustrator as vector images.
If you’re working on 360 marketing pitches or launching a product, you’ll love this.
Ideal for creating mockups and integrating 3D visuals into graphic design, Project Neo’s collaborative capabilities allow designers to share projects and track the design history in real-time. Again: productive and practical!
What I look forward to most about this is how much faster client feedback will be too. Because creatives like me are more able to send deliverables earlier, approvals are also much faster.
Adobe Tools: Frame.io V4 Gets Better Workflow Management
As someone who works with a team from all over the globe, I can’t stress enough how obsessed I am with this update.
Frame.io V4 enhances collaboration with a redesigned platform for managing creative workflows.
Now integrated with Adobe Creative Cloud tools like Premiere Pro and After Effects, Frame.io simplifies everything from project review cycles to secure file sharing, making it an invaluable resource for creative teams.
As more agencies and freelancers embrace remote work, Frame.io’s comprehensive features offer a centralized workspace for more harmonious collaboration and project management in real-time.

Adobe Express, now packed with powerful new tools, is making design accessible and efficient for users across skill levels.
Whether you’re a student, an intern, a founder, or a does-it-all marketer, Adobe Express’s capabilities are ones you’ll want to take advantage of the most.
