Amazon accidentally leaked the redesigned Mac mini featuring an all-new design and the M4 chip. The machine should go official on October 29.
The new Mac mini looks like a smaller Mac Studio and sports two USB-C ports on the front.
M4 Mac mini pops up on Amazon
Apple is not holding any new product launch events this year. But the company confirmed it will make several Mac-related announcements through this week. On Monday, October 28, it announced the M4 iMac and released iOS 18.1 with Apple Intelligence. The M4 Mac mini and MacBook Pros are next in line and should go official by Wednesday.
A comparison chart accidentally published early by Amazon confirms the new Mac mini will be available with either an M4 or M4 Pro chip configuration. The latter will pack a 13-core CPU and up to a 20-core GPU. You can get the machine with up to 64GB of unified memory and 8TB storage. For comparison, the current M2 Pro Mac mini is only configurable with 32GB RAM.
MacRumors first spotted the comparison chart on Amazon, which has since been removed. Based on the comparison chart, Apple might not offer the new Mac mini in a Space Black shade, like the last Intel-powered Mac mini.
Slimmer, more compact design!
Reports suggest the M4 Mac mini will sport a smaller, more compact form factor, similar to the Apple TV. The low-resolution image from Amazon confirms this, indicating the new Mac mini will resemble the Mac Studio. It will house two USB-C ports on the front. The machineโs high-end variants will pack five USB-C ports and seemingly give up on USB-A entirely.
Like the M4 iMac, the new Mac mini should also ship with 16GB of unified memory as standard. It is unclear if Apple will bump the Mac miniโs price or keep it unchanged like the new iMac.
Given the leak, Apple might launch the Mac mini later today (October 29).
