Hongkongers will now have the chance to help honour the city’s unsung heroes by voting for the 27 individuals and groups shortlisted in an annual initiative celebrating their achievements.
The Spirit of Hong Kong Awards is co-organised by the South China Morning Post and property developer Sino Group with an aim to recognise those who exemplify the city’s “can-do” spirit through their extraordinary efforts.
The public have until November 6 to vote for the finalist who they believe best represents the “can-do, kind and go-getting” ethos of Hong Kong.
The nominee with the most votes will be awarded the prestigious Lion Rock People’s Choice Award.
Besides the vote, a judging panel will select winners across nine categories: community, culture, innovation, perseverance, sustainability, teamwork, youth and the newly introduced categories of nurturing and entrepreneurship.
The winners will be announced in December.
