About 200 fish are reported to have been poisoned at a stall at a Hong Kong wet market.
Police were called after a vendor in his 50s discovered dead fish in his trays at On Tai Market in On Tai Estate in Sau Mau Ping at around 10.40am on Monday, with losses estimated to be HK$30,000 (US$3,860).
Initial investigations revealed that the incident could have been linked to business disputes. The man was said to have recently opened the stall, which might have caused discontent among other fishmongers.
The stall has been closed since the incident.
CCTV footage allegedly showed a suspicious man passing by the stall at least twice and pouring an unknown liquid into the fish trays.
The case has been classified as criminal damage and is currently under investigation.
