The stage show, which stars an all-male cast, brings the sassy seniors from the hit TV show back to life. The original TV series, starring Bea Arthur, Betty White, Rue McClanahan and Estelle Getty, followed the lives of four older women (three widows and one divorcee) who shared a home in Miami. The Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning show ran from 1985-92.
In this new live show, the eldest Golden Girl Sophia (Christopher Kamm) is out on bail after being arrested for running a drug ring that catered to retirees in the area.
Meanwhile, Blanche (Vince Kelley) and Rose (Adam Graber) have launched CreakN, a new and popular senior’s dating app, and Sophia’s daughter Dorothy (Ryan Bernier) is in the middle of it all just trying to keep things from going totally sideways all the while managing the whims of a new (much) younger “sex-crazed lover.”
“This show allows audiences to relive the heartfelt hilarity of these iconic friends, promising an evening filled with laughter and nostalgia,” says an official statement from the show.
The show is written by Robert Leleux, author of The Memoirs of a Beautiful Boy and The Living End and is directed by Eric Swanson.
Tickets are now on sale at Ticketmaster.ca. A special VIP photo experience add-on is available.
