How do you solve the Black Ops 6 safe house puzzles? Woods and the gang have to go it alone after estranging themselves from the corrupted CIA. Now without an organization to back them, they’re going to have to find a new place to set up shop. Fortunately, they’ve found an old, abandoned former KGB black site – a huge oceanside manor called ‘The Rook’ – to use as their base of operations throughout the campaign.
Of course, this isn’t any ordinary mansion, and as you’ll come to discover it’s hiding its fair share of secrets – secrets you’ll need to solve a bunch of puzzles to access. Whether you’re achievement hunting in Black Ops 6 or enjoying some downtime as you work towards those shiny Black Ops 6 campaign rewards, the FPS game offers some real brain teasers that we’ve got the solutions for.
Black Ops 6 safe house puzzles
There are seven Black Ops 6 safe house puzzles in total, scattered throughout the manor. Completing all of them will net you $1,000 to upgrade the manor with, the Case Cracker melee blueprint, and the ‘The Puzzles, Mason’ achievement. To start, pick up the blacklight from the table in the piano room.
Here are the Black Ops 6 safe house puzzle solutions:
Furnace and boiler puzzle
While it might be tempting to do the piano puzzle first – it is the first puzzle in your immediate vicinity after grabbing the blacklight, after all – it’s actually more efficient to go and do the furnace and boiler puzzle first.
Head down into the basement, which is accessible from the narrow hallway adjoining the main hub room, to the right of the operations room if you’re looking directly at it. Here you’ll find a large generator and a note questioning why it’s there in the first place – the house already has power, after all.
To get the generator going, operate the boiler using the following steps:
- Turn the ‘Fuel’ wheel twice to turn the fuel off.
- Turn the ‘Boiler’ wheel twice to turn the water off.
- Turn the ‘Fuel’ wheel once so it’s at half-fuel.
- Turn the ‘Pilot’ switch on.
- Turn the ‘Boiler’ wheel twice to turn the water to full.
Piano puzzle
Head back to the piano room where you found the blacklight and begin the piano puzzle. Completing this opens a hidden door when the correct notes are played in sequence. Using the blacklight, search the room for Cyrillic characters with a number next to them. Here is the correct order of the characters:
Which translates into the following keys on the piano:
When you get to the bottom of the stairs after heading through the hidden door, you’ll come across a large, locked door. This door needs the furnace and boiler puzzle to be completed to open, so it’s a good thing we went and did it first.
Keypad code puzzle
Down in the secret basement, you’ll quickly come across another locked door with a Wordle-esque keypad puzzle – Keypadle? While there isn’t a convenient scrap of paper with the code on, fortunately, the blacklight reveals lots of smudgy fingerprints, indicating the numbers that are pressed most often. The faded fingerprints are red herrings, while double fingerprints indicate the number is used twice for the code.
The code I (Aaron) got was ‘23443,’ but other members of the team reported otherwise – this isn’t the only randomly generated solution in the Black Ops 6 safe house puzzles…
Hack the computer
After cracking open the keypad door, you’ll be presented with a hacking challenge. This time, we’re matching the numbers in the ‘code word’ sequences to the letters in the cipher key given at the bottom of the puzzle. Once again, the solution is randomized, but it shouldn’t prove much of a challenge for a seasoned conundrum connoisseur such as yourself.
Our codes were ‘3215,’ ‘4527901,’ ‘1554,’ and ‘796521’ which translated as ‘OPEN HOLDING ROOM BUNKER.’
Basement key
After whacking out our cracking hacking skills, it’s time to find a particularly well-hidden key. To do so, leave the computer room and turn right, before heading left through the door that’s been left ajar into a room with a red window. Here you’ll find a door that needs its lock picked – this is where your years of training come in.
To pick the lock, simply swivel the pick around until the spring lifts, emitting a subtle white glow. Now sit and wait until the spring completely rises into an unlocked position, moving you onto the next spring. It’s not quite Skyrim lockpicking fidelity-wise, but let’s be grateful it’s not a Master-tier lock.
Head into the room and grab the key off of the table next to the chair that definitely hasn’t been used for torture.
Tune the radio
With the key in hand, it’s time to head back to the basement intersection and throw a right down towards the final locked door. As you approach it you’ll see a radio signal indicator pop up. Here you’ll want to follow the signal to the radio at the back of the room, and ‘Tune Radio’ to begin the puzzle.
All you’re going to do here is turn the ‘Amplitude’ and ‘Frequency’ dials until the waveforms line up. This might take a second to work out, but if even game journalists can do it, you can too… hopefully.
Safe code
If you’ve jumped all the way down here from the top of the guide just to skip to the good part, we have bad news for you. The safe code, like most of the Black Ops 6 safe house puzzles, is randomized. Fortunately, if you have been putting the legwork in to get here so far, the solution isn’t far away.
Once you’ve spurred the radio into life it’ll begin spewing out a message on repeat. You’ll also have probably noticed the numbers dotted about the room if you’ve kept your blacklight on. To get the safe code, note down the numbers in the order the object they’re attached to is mentioned in the message.
For me, the message was “He slumped on the couch, his wife’s purse still missing. He noticed the calendar marked with his brother’s birthday, just under the memorial flag.”
The key items here are ‘couch,’ ‘purse,’ ‘calendar,’ ‘flag,’ which are marked by the numbers 3, 1, 9, 6.
Open the safe
Now coded up and ready to go, head back up out of the basement, and up the stairs at the very front of the house (the door at the bottom of them will lead outside to the yellow van). At the top of the stairs, do a full 180 and head down the dark hallway, ducking right into another corridor. Here you’ll find two bedroom doors – take the right one. Next to the bed, you’ll find the safe. Now it’s time to punch in your code and claim your prize – congrats!
That’s everything you need to know about the Black Ops 6 safe house and how to solve the puzzles within. With your shiny new blueprint in hand, it’s time to go full magpie and collect all of the Black Ops 6 camos, as well as all the goodies you can rack up with the Black Ops 6 Prestige system. Ah, dopamine.
