Grab a fast 2TB Corsair Steam Deck gaming SSD for just $109.99, if you’re quick

If you’re looking to massively bump up the storage in your Steam Deck, or other handheld gaming device, then this Corsair gaming SSD deal is a bargain right now. With a $10 discount and an extra $30 saving to be made with a discount code, this offer gets you a 2TB drive for just under $110.

As a maker of some of the best gaming SSD options, Corsair has a wide range of options big and small, but it’s the company’s petite MP600 Core drive that’s available in this offer. Measuring just 30mm, this M.2 2230 drive is ideal for upgrading a Steam Deck, or another handheld device, such as the Asus ROG Ally.

This PCIe 4.0 drive can deliver sequential read and write speeds of up to 5,000MB/s and 3,800MB/s respectively. That’s considerably faster than older PCIe 3.0 drives that top out at 3,500MB/s, so despite its small size, this will be a sizeable storage speed upgrade for many gaming systems. While the Steam Deck only supports PCIe 3.0, this drive will still work fine in the deck, and if you have a PCIe 4.0 device, such as the Asus ROG Ally X, then you’ll be able to run it even faster.

The drive uses 3D quad-level cell (QLC) NAND, which can be slower to write to than triple-level cell (TLC) and multi-level cell (MLC) NAND. Indeed, that’s why this drive has a noticeably slower write speed than read speed. However, the overall speed figures here are still far superior to a microSD card, and will be more than fast enough for any of the best gaming handheld PC devices.

To the deal, then, Newegg has the drive listed at a standard price of $149.99 with a flat $10 discount to $139.99. However, if you apply the code “CSSDPMT223” at checkout, you’ll get an extra $30. That makes for a $109.99 price for a 2TB SSD, which is great value whichever way you slice it.

This particular offer is only available in the US, but buyers in the UK can pick up the faster MP600 Mini with a 17% discount on Amazon. That makes it only £10 more expensive than the MP600 Core Mini, yet it’s a 7,000MB/s drive using longer-endurance TLC NAND.
