Former Real Madrid midfielder, Toni Kroos, has revealed that it was difficult for him to tell his son and manager Carlo Ancelotti that he was retiring.
Kroos retired from professional football at the end of last season following the conclusion of the Euro 2024 in Germany.
Speaking to MARCA about his retirement, the former Germany international said: “The most difficult thing was telling Ancelotti and my son that I was retiring. It’s been really complicated.”
He added, “I really love Real Madrid, in the most realistic sense of this word.
“My farewell at the Bernabéu… I will keep it inside my heart forever.”
Kroos won several trophies including the Champions League during his time at Real Madrid.
