Three men, identified by their first names as Robert, Eliseo, and Jepoy, lost their money worth ₱10,000 following an altercation with a woman and her group near the Capitol Compound, along Rizal Avenue, at around 12:20 a.m. on October 22.
A post from “We R1 at your Service” by the Anti Crime Task Force (ACTF) stated that the three men engaged the services of a woman for ₱600 and arranged to meet at a lodging house. When they arrived at the lodging house, they could not locate the woman, prompting them to return to the area of the Capitol where they initially spoke with the intermediary and provided the payment.
Based on the ACTF report, they wanted to get back the money they paid, which led to a conflict between them and the woman.
The woman slapped Robert and said she would call the police. Robert retaliated by slapping the woman, and that’s when the fight started, escalating to a beating where the three were ganged up on by the women’s companions who were loitering at the Capitol.
One of them had his bag taken, which contained a cellphone and earnings from their trucking job worth ₱10,000, after which the assailants fled into an alley away from the scene.
When the authorities arrived, they found the said bag in a trash can, empty. The three men were also taken to Police Station 1 for investigation related to the incident.
