The Premier League weekend wraps up with the return of Monday Night Football, as Nottingham Forest take on Crystal Palace. While there’s little edge between the pair on the face of it, the Eagles rank fifth in fouls per away game and Forest have committed the third-highest fouls at home.
I’ve picked out a 55/1 fouls-focused fourfold for the clash. This tip has been priced up with Betfair, who are offering £50 worth of free bet builders to new customers who join and bet £10!
Monday Night Football Foul Four Tip
Morgan Gibbs-White to make 2+ fouls
Gibbs-White leads the way in terms of fouls for Nottingham Forest this season, making 13 across his six appearances. The midfielder was on his best behaviour against Chelsea last time out on his return following a sending-off against Brighton, but he made multiple fouls in home clashes with Bournemouth and Wolves early in the season.
Palace midfielder Adam Wharton tends to draw plenty of fouls and he’ll be sitting deep, matching up directly with Gibbs-White quite often here. Given his foul-heavy start to the campaign, the England international is backed to make at least two fouls.
Nikola Milenkovic to make 2+ fouls
Forest defender Milenkovic is making fewer fouls than during his spell with Fiorentina, but he’s likely to even that up over the course of the campaign. The Serbian defender was booked against Spain during the international break and he made two fouls against Switzerland.
The defender made three fouls in Forest’s home clash with Wolves and Palace’s front three should trouble him. Eddie Nketiah and Eberechi Eze have been fouled a combined 23 times this season and their pace buzzing around the less-mobile Milenkovic should cause problems for the Serbian.
Tyrick Mitchell to make 2+ fouls
Tyrick Mitchell hasn’t been too foul-prone this season, but Forest will pose him some problems. The full-back is playing on the left where he’s struggling to make much attacking impact, but he also won’t have a huge amount of defensive cover in that wing-back role.
Forest’s right flank is expected to see Ola Aina and Anthony Elanga pairing up, with those two drawing a combined 14 fouls this season. Mitchell’s return of two fouls in seven games seems unusually low, while he’s made two fouls in each of his two Carabao Cup appearances. Take the value on Forest’s pair on the right to give him a few headaches.
Trevoh Chalobah to make 1+ fouls
Chalobah returned in the loss to Liverpool, where he committed two fouls. While this isn’t quite the same test, he’ll be asked to handle Forest’s wide men cutting in and their physical threats up top.
Chris Wood draws one foul per game on average and Taiwo Awoniyi tends to win fouls in his cameo role off the bench. Chalobah hasn’t featured a lot over the last 18 months, so he’s an excellent price to make a single foul.
