Are you a fan of the aesthetic of the ROG Phone, specifically the ROG Phone 7 series, but don’t have the cash to buy one? Doogee might have you covered with their V40 Pro rugged phone, which has a back panel that looks like the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate.
What does the V40 Pro have to offer? Aside from a 1.47-inch rear display and a back panel design that draws inspiration from the ROG Phone 7 series, you get a high-resolution 6.78-inch with a 2.4k resolution and 120hz refresh rate–though it’s only an IPS panel. It does have a decent set of internals that include a Dimensity 7300 processor that’s paired with a whopping 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. The Dimensity 7300 is a proven processor; we’ve tried it on a couple of phones and it’s a capable chip for gaming.
The V40 Pro’s camera setup looks promising, as you’re getting a 200-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel telephoto camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 20-megapixel night vision camera, with all those shooters (save for the night vision camera) capable of 4K video recording. You also get a huge 8680mAh battery inside with support for 33w charging.
Being a rugged phone, you get both IP68 and IP69k ratings and a MIL-STD-810H certification which means that the V40 Pro should be able to handle most of the elements. Other notable features include WiFi 6, Android 14 out of the box, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and NFC.
The Doogee V40 Pro is a bit on the pricey side at $599(~Php 34.6k), but we will not be surprised if Doogee throws in special promo prices if they plan to make it available in the Philippines.
