Week 8 kicks off with the Minnesota Vikings (5-1) looking to bounce back after their 1st loss of the season when they visit the LA Rams (2-4) on Thursday Night Football. Minnesota lost 31-29 as a 1-point favorite vs. the visiting Detroit Lions (5-1) Sunday.
The early slate Sunday features QB Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals (3-4) hosting QB Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles (4-2). Both teams are coming off back-to-back wins, and Cincinnati can hit the .500 mark for the 1st time this season with a victory Sunday.
Other noteworthy matchups include the Atlanta Falcons (4-3) at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-2), as well as the New York Jets (2-5) off a SNF loss in Week 7 traveling to face the New England Patriots (1-6).
The top 2 picks from the 2024 NFL Draft potentially meet in the 4 p.m. ET slate as QB Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears (4-2) visit QB Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders (5-2). It’s unknown if Daniels (ribs) will play, though, as he was forced to leave the Commanders Week 7 win over the Carolina Panthers (1-6).
Two of the 3 favorites to win the AFC are also on the road Sunday, with the Kansas City Chiefs (6-0) traveling to face the Las Vegas Raiders (2-5), as well as the Buffalo Bills (5-2) at the Seattle Seahawks (4-3).
Sunday’s card wraps up with the Dallas Cowboys (3-3) visiting the San Francisco 49ers (3-4) in the prime-time game. The 49ers are 3-0 straight up and against the spread in the last 3 meetings, covering by an average margin of 13.7 points per game.
Week 8 comes to a close with QB Russell Wilson and the Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2) hosting the New York Giants (5-2) on MNF. In his 1st start as a Steeler in Week 7, Wilson led Pittsburgh to a 37-15 upset win as a 2.5-point underdog over the visiting Jets on SNF.
