“This team ain’t winning the west”: Fans cite 2 flaws with Warriors as Steph Curry and Co. average over one 3-point attempt per minute

NBA fans are buzzing over the Golden State Warriors’ high volume 3-point shooting during their preseason games. In their 122-112 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday, Steph Curry and the Warriors attempted a staggering 52 3-pointers. They attempted 50 shots from distance in their first game, a 91-90 win against the LA Clippers.

Across their first two preseason games, Steve Kerr’s squad has launched a total of 102 threes in 96 minutes, meaning the team attempts 1.06 3-pointers per minute.

Despite the Warriors’ high volume of 3-point shooting, NBA fans remain skeptical about their chances of securing another championship. Many fans pointed out two key flaws that could hinder the team’s quest to win the Western Conference and ultimately compete for the title.

Some fans highlighted the absence of an elite center on the Warriors’ roster as one of the key reasons the team might struggle to contend for a championship.

“This team is one legit center of being a contender … they have 3 point shooters all over the place.. just need a big man.. hope this team make a trade soon.. this team ain’t winning the west with this roster right now.. plus we don’t even know which Wiggins you are getting,” a fan said.

“Looney and TJD problem. Needs Better players at center,” commented another fan.

Some fans also pointed to the team’s underwhelming defense as another significant cause for concern regarding their championship aspirations.

“Need to play better defense,” a fan said.

“Hitting 11 more threes than your opponent and being down 2 at halftime is #notagoodsign btw for anyone wondering lol,” said another fan while emphasizing the Warriors; inability to stop other team from scoring.

“Plus we need better defensive play.. kings getting whatever they want when they want.. need better defense… the offense will be there.. Steve kerr needs to work on these guys defense..they suck defensively,” wrote another X user.

“They got their 3 ball , not so much the defense . But Kings gonna score,” a fan wrote.

Golden State Warriors’ historic shooting night

The Golden State Warriors were on fire from beyond the arc in their game against the Sacramento Kings, hitting 28 3-pointers, surpassing any mark they’ve set in the regular season. Steve Kerr’s squad outdid the franchise’s regular-season record of 27 made threes in a single game.

Buddy Hield spearheaded the team’s effort by going 6-for-7 from beyond the arc, while Jonathan Kuminga and De’Anthony Melton each contributed four 3-pointers.

Steph Curry and Lindy Waters III added three triples apiece, with Draymond Green, Brandin Podziemski and Moses Moody each knocking down two shots from long range.
