The Wanderers go so, so close – Alex Popovic has to clear it off Sydney FC’s line! What a brilliant counter-attacking move by the Wanderers, who go from right to left to right, with Gabriel Cleur lobbing it to the far post, where Aydan Hammond was there to tap it in… but not firmly enough. Popovic intervenes, spares the blushes of Andrew Redmayne, who was otherwise in trouble, and the scores remain level.
And… BOOM! Sydney FC takes the lead moments later! A long ball from a Wanderers goal kick comes right back where it came from, Klimala heads it onto Joe Lolley who negotiates his way through traffic and smacks it in.
