BenQ tailors new high-end displays to Mac users

Two new external monitors BenQ showcased this week at Adobe MAX in Miami cater specifically to Mac and MacBook users — especially creative professionals. PD2730S and PD3226G, part of BenQ’s DesignVue PD series, promise to deliver exceptional color accuracy and performance for designers, illustrators and content creators.

“BenQ has meticulously gathered feedback from professionals to design monitors that precisely meet their requirements with always accurate and consistent colors,” said Houston Wei, senior director of BenQ North America. “The new PD2730S and PD3226G were designed with both Mac and PC users in mind to provide unparalleled color features with invaluable new software including Display ColorTalk and Palette Master Ultimate.”

BenQ PD2730S (5K) and PD3226G (4K) monitors

The new 27-inch PD2730S BenQ 5K monitor boasts 5K resolution with 218 pixels per inch (PPI), ensuring crisp and vivid visuals. This release follows another recent one aimed at coders.

The new PD2730S features an exclusive M-book mode for perfect color matching with Mac displays, addressing a common pain point for Apple users working across multiple screens. The monitor’s Delta E ≤ 2 guarantees professional-grade color accuracy out of the box, BenQ said.

Mac users may also appreciate the PD2730S’s Thunderbolt 4 connectivity, supporting daisy-chaining and KVM functionality for seamless device management. The monitor also includes BenQ’s Nano Matte Panel technology, reducing glare while maintaining visual quality. And an innovative feature for MacBook Pro users is the iKeyboard control, allowing brightness and volume adjustments directly from the laptop keyboard.

Color-management solutions

For creators who prioritize smooth performance, the 32-inch PD3226G offers a high 144Hz refresh rate with FreeSync Premium technology. This feature ensures fluid UI interactions and seamless pen strokes when using drawing tablets, enhancing the overall design experience for professionals, according to the company.

Both monitors come equipped with BenQ’s latest color management solutions: Display ColorTalk and Palette Master Ultimate. These tools address the challenges of color inconsistency across multiple displays, a common issue in creative workflows. Display ColorTalk ensures out-of-the-box color accuracy and consistent reproduction across BenQ monitors, while Palette Master Ultimate provides long-term color accuracy and consistency.

Dr. Chris Bai, head of BenQ’s color lab and vice president of the ICC Association, presented at Adobe MAX on color management, demonstrating how these software solutions benefit designers in maintaining color consistency and accuracy over time. By combining high-resolution displays, color accuracy, and Mac-friendly features, BenQ aims to provide tools that seamlessly integrate into Apple-centric workflows, BenQ said.
