On October 18th, Xpeng Motors announced that the first batch of their P7+ sedans had officially come off the production line at their Guangzhou factory and were being distributed to stores across China.
This news follows the recent launch of the Xpeng P7+ at the Paris Motor Show, where the vehicle was initially offered for sale at a starting price of 209,800 yuan. The launch was met with significant interest, with the model receiving over 30,000 orders within the first two hours.
The P7+ is a medium-to-large sedan designed with family users in mind. Its dimensions are 5056mm x 1937mm x 1512mm, with a 3000mm wheelbase. The design strategy, which involves advancing the A-pillar and retreating the C-pillar, optimizes the interior space for passengers.
The interior design allows for a space utilization rate of up to 88%, surpassing that of competitors like the Audi A6L and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. The front and rear seating spaces are 956mm and 994mm respectively, with a knee space of 157mm, all of which outperform similar models in its class.
The P7+ also boasts a 725L trunk, larger than many SUVs. When the rear seats are folded down, the storage space expands to 2221L, capable of fitting 33 20-inch suitcases.
In terms of comfort, the P7+ comes standard with heating, ventilation, and massage functions for both front and rear seats. The rear seat backrest can be electrically adjusted, and the vehicle features six intelligent scenario-based massages, enhancing the comfort for all passengers. These features offer a distinct advantage over other vehicles in the same price range.
The P7+ is Xpengโs first model to incorporate the AI Eagle Eye Vision Smart Driving solution, which uses a single pixel Lofic architecture. This technology provides more accurate, clearer, and longer-distance information gathering capabilities than traditional cameras.
The vehicle is equipped with 11 cameras, 3 millimeter-wave radars, and 12 ultrasonic radars, along with 2 NVIDIA Orin-X smart driving chips, delivering a computing power of up to 508 TOPS. This system can recognize 49 types of obstacles, traffic lights, road signs, and more. Notably, this advanced driving assistance comes standard and free of charge across all models, without the need for additional unlocking fees.
The P7+ features a single motor drive with a maximum power output of 180kW or 230kW, and a top speed of 200km/h. It is powered by either a 60.7 kWh or 76.3 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack.
Despite the compact size of the battery, the P7+ boasts impressive efficiency. The 60-degree battery version can travel up to 602 kilometers on a single charge, while the 76-degree version can reach up to 710 kilometers. The energy consumption is approximately 11 degrees per 100 kilometers, demonstrating the vehicleโs overall excellent performance.
