The Bureau of Immigration said Thursday it would deport two sex offenders from the United States and the United Kingdom.
In a statement, the BI said 76-year-old American Joseph John Graham and 50-year-old British Ryan Ashley, who are considered undesirable aliens, were arrested on separate occasions on Wednesday.
“They will be deported immediately and will be placed on our blacklist, banning them from re-entering the Philippines,” Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado said.
Graham was arrested at Clark International Airport in Angeles City, Pampanga. He is the subject of an arrest warrant issued by a court in Florida, U.S., where he was charged with 55 counts of child pornography.
Investigation showed that Graham, who frequently travels to the Philippines, allegedly has multiple child sex abuse materials.
These materials include nude photos of Filipino children, with some as young as 3 years old, which were found on his mobile phone.
Despite facing deportation charges, Graham will remain under the National Bureau of Investigation’s custody as further charges were eyed against him.
Meanwhile, Ashley was intercepted at the BI SM Aura office in Taguig during his attempt to extend his tourist visa.
A registered sex offender, Ashley was convicted in the UK in 1994 and 2002 for multiple sexual offenses, including indecent assault on minors.
After his arrest, Ashley was transferred to the BI’s facility in Bicutan, Taguig City. — VBL, GMA Integrated News
