KUALA LUMPUR: Bersatu Youth chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal says he has no qualms about debating economy minister Rafizi Ramli, but insists that Rafizi must provide a “neutral” platform.
Wan Fayhsal said he would only agree to debate the PKR deputy president if it was organised by a news outlet.
“I won’t go to his ‘bakar’ podcast,” he said, referring to its “Yang Bakar Menteri” name.
“Provide a neutral platform and I will ‘spar’ with Rafizi,” he told reporters at the Dewan Rakyat.
Rafizi had snubbed the challenge by Wan Fayhsal for a live televised debate yesterday, saying he preferred to have it on his podcast. He cited the high cost.
He said this after Wan Fayhsal proposed for a televised debate similar to the one Rafizi had with Bachok MP Syahir Che Sulaiman last year.
Today, Wan Fayhsal said he was prepared to debate Rafizi on several issues, including his much-derided proposal to print money as well as the controversy surrounding Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd, Global Infrastructure Partners and BlackRock.
