The Long Haul: 29/1 Road Warriors acca spanning Tuesday to Sunday! | FST

It may be the back end of the international break, but there is still enough midweek football for us to sink our teeth into and put together our week-long accumulator taking us from Tuesday to Sunday.

Two selections from Saturday’s burgeoning fixture list make up for a lack of football on Wednesday, with six teams backed to continue their excellent away records and win on the road this week.

All our selections are backed with bet365, where new customers can get up to £30 in free bets by signing up below.

Back our 29/1 Road Warriors Acca here!

Tuesday – Portugal to beat Scotland

Scotland let a 1-0 lead slip for the second successive game on Saturday as Croatia came back to win 2-1 in Zagreb and Steve Clarke could see his side fall to yet another defeat when an in-form Portugal side visit Hampden Park.

The visitors may have disappointed in Germany in the summer, but they have begun the 2024/25 UEFA Nations League campaign with a perfect record of three wins from three. The Selecao have won their last four meetings with Scotland and can claim another three points on Tuesday.

Thursday – Exeter to beat Shrewsbury

Shrewsbury ended a seven-game winless streak in an eight-goal thriller at Crawley on Saturday, but they could find themselves on the wrong end of defeat back at The Croud Meadow on Thursday.

The Shrews have drawn one and lost three of their last four competitive home games and face an Exeter City side that have won five of their last seven in all competitions. They have beaten Bolton and Leyton Orient on the road this term and Paul Hurst’s side could be their latest victim as they look to break into the play-off positions.

Friday – Anderlecht to beat Beerschot

Beerschot’s return to the top tier of the Belgian footballing pyramid has not gone to plan so far, and their miserable season could continue when Anderlecht visit Antwerp on Friday evening.

The hosts have claimed just two points from ten games so far and have a -19 goal difference, while four of their five home matches have ended in defeat. Anderlecht have had their problems in the First Division A this season, but they have won three of their last four in all competitions and head to the Olympisch Stadion unbeaten in five.

Saturday – Wigan to beat Cambridge Utd

Cambridge United avoided relegation by the skin of their teeth last season but, just nine games into the 2024/25 campaign, they look destined for a return to League Two this time around.

They have picked up a solitary point from a possible 27 this term and have lost their last six league outings, while Wigan are 12 points better off than their hosts and beat Carlisle in the EFL Trophy last time out, extending their unbeaten run to seven games.

Saturday – Arsenal to beat Bournemouth

Bournemouth allowed Leicester to claim their first Premier League win of the season before the international break and their return to action kicks off a gruelling run of fixtures for Andoni Iraola’s side.

The visiting Gunners are unbeaten in ten competitive games this season and have won seven of those. They won both meetings with the Cherries last season to make it five wins in a row against these opponents, so back them to continue their title charge on Saturday evening.

Sunday – Man City to beat Wolves

Gary O’Neil looks on the brink of getting the sack and his chances of remaining in a job will not be helped by the visit of Manchester City on Sunday, with the hosts sitting rock-bottom of the Premier League having lost six and drawn one of their seven league assignments this term.

Manchester City have had a few slip-ups this season, but they are yet to lose this term and their failures to win have come against much stronger opposition than Wolves. Pep Guardiola’s side hammered Wolves 5-1 in their last meeting in May, and I would not rule out a similar scoreline at Molineux on Sunday.
