While realme boasted that they are the first to demo a Camera Control button ahead of the official launch of the iPhone 16 series, OPPO confirmed that both the Find X8 and X8 Pro will feature a Quick Capture button to maximize camera functionalities without depending on the touchscreen.
Based on the photo shared by OPPO Find Product Manager Zhou Yibao on Weibo, the Camera Control button on the Find X8 appears to be a capacitive button similar to Apple and realmeโs approach. Yibao explained that the decision to go for this approach is to give it more functionality beyond being a shutter button like what Sonyโs Xperia phones have.
Yibao also explained in his Weibo post that the idea of developing a Camera Control button on the Find X8 series stems from the pain points encountered in his travels when he could not use the touchscreen to take photosโor miss the moment because he had to fiddle the exposure settings on screen.
That being said, OPPO made sure that this new button on the Find X8 series can be used in both vertical and horizontal orientation, and that using it is as simple as operating volume controls.
The Find X8 series will launch in China on October 24.
