The Osogbo community has been plunged into mourning following the death of Ajadi Badmus, the Asiwaju of Osogboland, who passed away early Sunday morning at the age of 83.
Sources close to the family, speaking anonymously, confirmed his passing to Daily Post.
Alhaji Badmus, a respected leader, hailed from the Adekilekun dynasty in the Isale-Osun area of Osogbo, the capital of Osun State.
He was the elder brother of prominent businessman Alhaji Khamis Olatunde Badmus, the Chairman of TUNS Farm, who also holds the title of Asiwaju Musulumi of Yorubaland.
At the time of this report, the family had yet to disclose the specific circumstances of his death or provide details on the arrangements for his burial.
Alhaji Badmus succeeded the late Pa Ahmed Omidiran as the Asiwaju of Osogboland in 2022.
Pa Omidiran, a notable business figure in his own right, passed away at the age of 95 in the same year.
