Motorcyclist Dies After Struck Twice, Once By Vehicle That Bolted On I91: Police



SOUTH WALLINGFORD, CT — A man died after the motorcycle he was riding on was struck in the rear, and he was thrown, then hit by another vehicle that fled the scene on I91 South Saturday morning, state troopers said.

Marcellino Phillip Anthony, 22, of Northford, was struck near Exit 13 at around 2 a.m. by a vehicle driven by a 45-year-old Naugatuck man, who remained at the scene, according to police.

Medics from the Wallingford Fire Department pronounced him dead shortly after the crash due to fatal injuries sustained in the crash, police said.

Police did not have a description of the vehicle which was driven from the scene.

The collision is under “further investigation,” police said.
