GRAND BOULEVARD — In need of a good meal for the holidays? Chicago’s Home of Chicken and Waffles will be serving hot meals for neighbors in need on Thanksgiving Day.
People can stop by the restaurant, 3947 S. King Drive, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday to receive a pre-packaged container with chicken, dressing, vegetables, rolls and dessert.
“When we first opened our doors, we made a commitment that we would be of service to the community. This is our way of giving thanks by serving,” owner Darnell Johnson said.
Meals will be given away until 1 p.m., or until supplies run out.
Chicago’s Home of Chicken and Waffles celebrated its 15th anniversary last year with a giveaway and an announcement of its plans to build a new location across the street.
