Capital One VentureOne Rewards Credit Card vs. Wells Fargo Autograph℠ Card
If you’re looking for a travel card without an annual fee or foreign transaction fees, consider the Wells Fargo Autograph℠ Card. You’ll earn a similar welcome bonus and much higher rewards: Earn 3 points per dollar at restaurants, travel, gas stations, transit, popular streaming services and phone plans, 1 point per dollar on other purchases. For most, the Wells Fargo Autograph℠ Card will offer more rewards potential.
The Wells Fargo Autograph offers cellphone protection, secondary auto rental coverage and emergency support. You can also transfer your points to travel partners, although the list of partner programs is much smaller than Capital One’s.
If you’re looking for a balance transfer, this isn’t the card for you. But you can receive a 0% introductory APR on purchases for 12 months from account opening. A variable APR of 19.49%, 24.49%, or 29.49% applies for purchases after the intro period ends and for balance transfers. The card has a balance transfer fee of up to 5%, minimum $5.
Capital One VentureOne Rewards Credit Card vs. Discover it® Miles
The Discover it® Miles card differs from the VentureOne in a few noticeable ways. To start, the Discover it® Miles offers the ability to earn 1.5 miles per dollar on every purchase, whereas the VentureOne only offers 1.25 miles per dollar.
But the biggest difference between these cards is the welcome bonus. Here’s what the Discover it® Miles card offers: Unlimited match of all the miles earned at the end of the first year. Based on average spending, the Discover it® Miles card is likely to come out ahead based on the welcome bonus.
Like the VentureOne, the miles earned on this card can be redeemed for statement credits to cover travel purchases. The Discover it® Miles also offers a 0% intro APR on purchases and balance transfers for the first 15 months of account opening. After that, a variable APR of 18.74% – 27.74% applies. A balance transfer fee of up to 5% of the amount transferred applies.
The clear winner of this fairly well-matched comparison is the Discover it® Miles, at least for the first year, unless you intend to leverage the VentureOne’s transfer partners.
Capital One VentureOne Rewards Credit Card vs. Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card
With the $95 annual fee Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card (rates & fees), you’ll earn 5 miles per dollar on hotels, vacation rentals, and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel, 5 miles per dollar spent on Capital One Entertainment purchases through 12/31/25 and an unlimited 2 miles per dollar spent on other purchases. It easily surpasses the VentureOne’s flat-rate rewards on purchases outside Capital One Travel. It also offers a richer welcome bonus but requires more spending to qualify.
The Venture Rewards card offers expanded benefits, like statement credit toward Global Entry or TSA PreCheck® application fees every four years. But it has no introductory APR, so if you need to finance a purchase or transfer a balance, this card won’t be ideal (rates & fees).
