One person died after being struck by a vehicle at a gas station in Kamloops early Wednesday.

Shortly before 5 a.m., RCMP were called out to the 200-block of Tranquille Road, where a vehicle struck a person who was sitting against a wall.

Kamloops RCMP say the driver remained and is cooperating with police.

The B.C. Coroners Service is investigating.

Anyone with information or dash camera footage of the collision is asked to call Kamloops RCMP.

IIO investigates police-involved shooting in Midway

The Independent Investigations Office of B.C. is investigating a shooting that injured a police officer near Midway.

Investigators say police were in the process of stopping a suspected stolen vehicle on a rural service road off Highway 33.

During the stop, one officer fired a gun but hit another officer. The injured officer was taken to the hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury.

The IIO is asking anyone with information about the shooting to call the IIO.

One person dies in car crash in Nakusp while evading police

The B.C. RCMP has notified the Independent Investigations Office of B.C. of a police-involved crash in Nakusp where one person died.

On Monday, shortly after 3 p.m., an officer with the Nakusp RCMP located a suspected stolen vehicle on Highway 6 south of the community, according to an RCMP news release late Tuesday.

The officer attempted to make a traffic stop, but police allege the vehicle accelerated before driving off the road into the ditch.

Paramedics arrived but the driver of the vehicle died. The passenger of the vehicle was taken to hospital for treatment and then released.

The IIO B.C. is investigating possible police action that may have led to the crash.
