Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour

When and where: July 22, Rogers Arena

Ticket on sale: Nov. 29, 10 a.m. at KatyPerry.com or Ticketmaster.com

What is her latest album title: 143

What to know about 143: The seventh studio release from multiplatinum singer Perry dropped on Sept. 20 preceded by a trio of singles; Woman’s World, Lifetimes and I’m His, He’s Mine feat. Doechii. Perry’s first new music since 2020’s Smile was mired in controversy due to the involvement of producer Dr. Luke, whom musician Kesha alleges in a California lawsuit sexually assaulted her. The somewhat bizarre video for Woman’s World with its confusing narrative line and animations generated almost as much media attention and the song only reached 63 on the Billboard Hot 100. While 143 is the word-reviewed album of the artist’s career, it still debuted in the top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart and many of the shows on the tour are sold out.

When and where: March 22, Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre, Victoria. March 24, Prospera Place, Kelowna

Ticket on sale: Nov. 29, 10 a.m. at livenation.com

What is the latest album title: Sail On Sailor: 1972

What to know about: With a career spanning more than 60 years, the Beach Boys are architects of the chiming harmonies, upbeat grooves and fun times feel that came to be known as “the California Sound.” Formed in 1961 in Hawthorne, California, the group comprised the three Wilson Brothers, their cousin Mike Love and school pal Al Jardine. Since then, the band has charted over 36 songs in the US Top 40 and released such critically-acclaimed masterpieces as 1966s Pet Sounds and timeless classics like Good Vibrations and Help Me Rhonda. While both Brian Wilson and Al Jardine are still listed as members, only singer Love continues performing. With no Vancouver date, the only place to catch these legends is in Victoria or Kelowna.
