Justin Sun becomes the largest investor to Donald Trump’s World Liberty Financial.

Tron blockchain founder Justin Sun who recently made headlines after he bought a banana duct-taped to a wall for $6.2 million at a Sotheby’s auction announced that he has become the largest investor in Donald Trump’s World Liberty Financial. “We are thrilled to invest $30 million in World Liberty Financial @worldlibertyfi as its largest investor,” Sun wrote in a post on X. “TRON is committed to making America great again and leading innovation.”
World Liberty Financial is Trump’s latest crypto platform that was launched ahead of the election where customers will be encouraged to borrow, lend and invest in digital coins.

  1. 34-year-old Justin Sun is a China-born cryptocurrency entrepreneur and business executive. He is the founder of Tron.
  2. Sun studied history at Peking University and then Master of Arts in East Asian Studies from the University of Pennsylvania.
  3. Sun is also the owner of Rainberry which developed the BitTorrent protocol.
  4. In 2023, Sun was sued by the US Securities and Exchange Commission which alleged that Sun and his companies engaged in fraudulent activity to inflate the price of Tron.
  5. Sun was appointed ambassador and permanent representative of Grenada to the World Trade Organization in 2021. In March 2023, Sun stepped down from his position. In October 2024, Sun was elected as a “Speaker of Congress” and appointed as “Prime Minister” of self-proclaimed country Liberland.

Sun said he might eat $6.2 million banana

After his jaw-dropping purchase of a banana duct-taped on the wall, named ‘Comedian’, Justin Sun said he plans to eat the banana. Bidding for the banana artwork opened at $800,000 and reached beyond $1.5 million in just a minute. Sun became the winner and he said the banana art represents a cultural phenomenon that bridges the worlds of art, memes and the cryptocurrency community.
Justin Sun said he plans to tape the banana to a spaceship and send it to the moon. But he is also inclined to eat it to “complete the decentralized cycle of this artwork”.
