A Lagos-based serial entrepreneur and philanthropist, Prince Emmanuel Adesuyi Gbadegeshin Bepo, has joined the race to succeed the late Owa Obokun with a pledge to take Ijesaland to greater heights.
Addressing scores of his supporters in Lagos recently, Bepo said he is being driven by passion to serve his people and promised to restore the lost pristine glory of Ijesaland if selected by the kingmakers.
Commenting on why he opted to contest, Bepo said: “I have received so much goodwill from prominent Ijesa sons and daughters urging me to serve my people as their Oba and I have decided to harken to their call.
“Though, I had in the past refused to listen but after due consideration, I think the thinking of those making the call aligns with my thoughts and there is a confluence of ideas coming into play. Those making the call are patriotic sons and daughters who like me, mean well for our motherland.”
When asked what his plans are for the Ijesa people, Bepo said: “If selected, I hope to bring in place a new trajectory of development in our motherland in a manner that brings Ijesaland into modernity.”
Born to the household, Oba Joshua Adedeji Aderintoro Bepo who was the Aleki of Ileki Ijesha from 1975 to 1988. Born on Easter Sunday, 2nd of April 1961, Prince Bepo is an ex student of Atakumosa High School, Osu in Atakumosa Local Government of Osun State.
For his tertiary education, he attended the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro; Ogun State and worked with Strabag Construction Company before joining an indigenous company called JCC now known as FCC construction and Dredging Company before venturing out to start his construction company in 2000.
In 2013, Prince Emmanuel Adesuyi Bepo established Holyville international as part of his investment portfolio to become an active player in the country’s construction sector.
Bepo is an astute and shrewd administrator who has continued to combine both native and sophisticated intelligence in addressing all issues.
He is a socialite of repute by virtue of his a membership of many clubs both in Lagos and Ilesa.
