This 1968 Dodge Charger R/T was previously owned by Paul Teutel, Sr. from the reality television series American Chopper, and is powered by a 426ci V8 linked with a three-speed automatic transmission. The car is refinished in blue over white vinyl and equipped with hideaway headlamps, 15″ Magnum 500–style wheels, power-assisted front disc brakes, power steering, an AM/8-track stereo, power windows, and a heater. The engine and rear end were rebuilt in 2020, and the seller purchased the car in 2022. This Charger R/T is now offered with service records, a Galen Govier certificate, and a clean California title in the name of the seller’s trust.
The car was finished at the factory in Bright Blue Metallic (Q) and was refinished under previous ownership. The left rear quarter panel has been repaired, and a paint crack is shown in the gallery. Features include a rear stripe as well as hideaway headlamps, round side-marker lights, a driver-side mirror, and a chrome rear bumper, window surrounds, and trim.
The 15″ Magnum 500–style wheels are mounted with 225/75 Coker Classic redline tires that need to be replaced. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is provided by power-assisted front disc and rear drum brakes.
The cabin houses front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in white vinyl along with a black dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Interior amenities include an AM/8-track stereo, power windows, and a heater. The clock does not work.
The wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 150-mph speedometer, a tachometer, an inoperative clock, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and alternator charge. A trio of aftermarket gauges are housed underneath the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 84k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 426ci Hemi V8 was factory equipped with dual four-barrel carburetors and was rated at 425 horsepower and 490 lb-ft of torque when new. The cylinder heads were repaired and the engine was rebuilt and refinished in 2020. An electric fuel pump was also added. Engine seepage is noted.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. The transmission gaskets were replaced and the rear end was rebuilt in 2020.
